R.O. Writer and Tiremetrix Collaborate for Effortless DOT Compliance
BRIGHTON, Mich. — Tiremetrix L.L.C., a provider of electronic tire registration, is integrating its Tire Registration Software with the R.O. Writer shop management software system.

Tiremetrix is a complete tire registration and tire recall management solution. Dealers can register every tire they sell at the point-of-sale directly with the responsible tire manufacturer. Registrations are stored in a secure cloud platform so dealers can retrieve their records and determine if customers are affected by a tire recall.
“Tiremetrix tire registration was developed to help tire dealers and repair facilities with the regulatory burden and support compliance of tire registration law,” Tiremetrix President, Joe Donehue said.
Mandatory tire registration is part of the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, which was enacted in 2015. Tire dealers can be fined up to $22,723 for a single violation and whopping $113.6 million for a related series of violations for failure to register new tire sales. In the event of a recall, dealers can identify affected customers, retrieve registration records, and get vital information directly from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The R.O. Writer end user needs to sign up for an account with Tiremetrix, as Tiremetrix will receive the DOT registration. R.O. Writer is not charging their users either a one-time setup or a monthly end user fee for utilizing the DOT registration module.
